I'm thrilled to announce Soothing Noise 1.0.2 - the biggest update yet! This release focuses on making your favorite sounds more accessible than ever with widgets, and introduces our new community features that let you share and discover presets from users around the world.
Home Screen Widgets
Your sounds, always one tap away.
I've added two beautiful widget sizes for your Home Screen that give you instant access to your favorite presets:
- Small Widget: Quick play/pause control with your currently selected preset
- Medium Widget: Quick Presets panel with one-tap access to Brown, Pink, and Sleep sounds
No more opening the app just to start your favorite sound. Simply tap a widget and your ambient soundscape starts playing immediately.
Lock Screen Widgets
Control your soundscape without unlocking.
The new Lock Screen widget puts playback control right where you need it most. With a single tap on your Lock Screen, you can:
- Start or stop your white noise instantly
- See what's currently playing at a glance
- Control playback even when your phone is locked
Perfect for those middle-of-the-night moments when you want to start your sleep sounds without the bright glare of unlocking your phone.
Share Presets to the Community
Your perfect sound could be someone else's discovery.
Created something special? Now you can share it with the world! Long-press any custom preset to reveal the new sharing options:
- Share Preset: Generate a link to share directly with friends
- Share to Community: Submit your preset to our public community library
- Rename Preset: Update the name anytime
- Delete Preset: Remove presets you no longer need
When you share to the community, your preset goes through a quick moderation process before appearing on soothingnoise.online. You can optionally add your name as the author so others can credit your creation.
Custom Preset Descriptions
Tell the story behind your sound.
You can now add optional descriptions to your custom presets. Whether it's a note about when to use it, what inspired it, or tips for others - your presets can now carry context.
When saving a new preset, you'll find:
- Preset Name: Give your creation a memorable title
- Description: Add optional notes about your preset
- Icon Selection: Choose from 12 unique icons
- Color Picker: Select from vibrant colors to personalize your preset
These descriptions become especially valuable when sharing presets with the community - they help others understand what makes your sound special.

Visit soothingnoise.online to explore presets created by our growing community. You'll find:
- White Noise: Classic equal-energy across all frequencies
- Pink Noise: Natural-sounding balance for sleep and focus

- Sleep: Designed for peaceful rest

Each preset shows its EQ visualization, description, and author. Found something you love? Tap "Open in App" to add it directly to your Soothing Noise collection.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
This update also includes several under-the-hood improvements:
- Fixed: Widget playback state now syncs correctly with the main app
- Fixed: Improved audio engine stability during background playback
- Improved: Better German translations for community features
- Improved: Author name is now remembered for future community submissions
